Who am I?

I am an environmental historian specialising in natural resource history, especially gold mining and forestry.

From 2021 until 2023, I worked at the University of Stavanger in Norway with a group of scholars as part of the Greenhouse Centre for Environmental Humanities. My research was on wildfire smoke in Scandinavia and Canada and was supported by a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship. Before moving to Norway I held a postdoctoral position at the Sherman Centre for Digital Scholarship at McMaster University and served as a Senior Advisor for the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations, and Rural Development in British Columbia. I completed my Masters at the University of Northern British Columbia and my PhD at McMaster University.
